About Matt

Matt is the owner of Spider Web Music and Dreher Guitars (Guitar Repair and Instruction). He has his Bachelor's Degree (Kent State) in Music Education with an emphasis in classical guitar and voice. Matt has taught music to children in public schools as a general music teacher and choir director. He has also taught children and adults private guitar lessons & general music lessons for over 20 years. He is the author of the book "Music Theory for Guitar". Matt also teaches courses and seminars on guitar repair and restoration. He does a few custom built guitars here and there as well.  

In guitar lessons with Matt you will learn in a simple and clear way how to play scales, chords, and use practical music theory to be able to utilize the entire guitar neck efficiently. This is then applied to songs or pieces for a thorough understanding of the music you are playing making it easier to quickly learn songs. 

Matt specializes in teaching music lessons for acoustic guitar, classical guitar, and electric guitar for country, rock, blues, and classical styles. You will learn to play with a flat pick and finger style playing (with nails, no finger picks here!) in your guitar lessons.  Coaching for playing and singing is offered as well.  

Guitar Repair and Guitar Building instruction is available with Matt through  private instruction. 

1 hr. lessons are offered every two weeks to accommodate busy schedules and allows for much more in depth learning than a 1/2 hr. lesson allows. This is equal to a 1/2 hr lesson every week but with better learning outcomes. 

Private guitar lesson bi-weekly - $50 per 1 hr. (average of $100 per month)

Private guitar lesson weekly (for serious students) $50 per 1 hr. 

Payments

Lesson fees are a monthly tuition and are not pro-rated, discounted, or refunded for missed sessions. Lessons do not carry over as credits from previous months. If an occasional lesson is missed with at least 24hrs notice, a makeup lesson will be scheduled as time and schedules permit. Lesson payments are set up by automatic payment with a credit or debit card charged at the beginning of each month for the entire month. Lessons are month-to-month, so there is no long-term commitment. Lessons can be discontinued at any time by email the week before the new month begins so automatic payments can be stopped. 

If books are needed they are a separate fee. Beginning books cost approximately $35.
